Remembering Iconic Dolphy on his 90th birth anniversary

Hulyo 25, 2018. He would have been 90 today.

Everyone mourned his passing six years ago; on July 10, 2012…the ALL TIME KING OF COMEDY and ENTERTAINER  Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. who was nearly 84 then.

More popularly known by his screen name Dolphy, he was also known as Pidol, and interestingly, Golay in 1944.

Generations have come to know the “DOLPHY” … as an ICON for Entertainment.

Who’s to forget John Puruntong of the sitcom “John en Marsha” and Mang Kevin Kosme of “Home Along Da Riles”; not to mention the other countless characters he played both on television and on the big screen?

People from all walks of life and all ages have come to know him as the giver of laughter; the “father” of the common Filipino families. He devoted himself to providing us with entertainment and hope, even did his best to give us his last straw of energy in 2012.

Just before the closing of your curtain, you gave us your Pidol’s Wonderland. Little did we know it would be your last gift for us. But now that we think about it, you closed the curtain with wonder, and headed towards the real ‘Wonderland”.

Tatay Dolphy…You are forever immortalized in our hearts and minds for the countless movies and shows you have shared with us; bringing us joy and laughter, inspiring us with the lessons you imparted, on- and off-camera.

Thank you so much for the 66 years of countless entertainment and life’s lessons, Sir, Tatay, John, Kevin, Pidol, Gorio !!!

Our salute to you, our very own, The King of Comedy! The Greatest! A True Legend!
