Or a Few days after ng suweldo, ubos na agad ang pera?

Have you heard the following line?

And the famous line na sinasabi a week or 2 before the month ends.

nasan sweldo

Do you think sa Pinas  lang narrinig ang mga lines na ‘to?

Hindi, even for us OFW’s very common ang line na to. Talaga??

I even said to myself, “If nagwowork lang ako abroad, Hindi ako kakapusin.” Pero very common saming mga OFWs ang mga lines na yun kahit dollars ang sweldo nami and malaki compared sa sweldo sa Pinas.

Here are some of the reasons why this also happens to OFWs:

REMITTANCES

  • Minus pa dito ung biglang may mag memessage samin in the middle of the month asking to send another remittances ulit. Birthday ni Ate, birthday ni bunso, Emergency reasons etc.

UTANG

  • Tama, kasama ang utang. Aside from the remittances that we send every month. A lot of us OFWs receive facebook messages, Viber, Text messages or calls from Pinas asking to borrow money.

 EXPENSIVE COST OF LIVING

Minsan it’s because of our attitude din towards money
  • Na ho-homesick kasi kaming mga OFW most of the time, madami samin idinadaan sa pamimili ng gadgets, bagong damit or bag to fight homesickness temporarily.

SCAMS

  • Dito ako pinaka naiinis, OFWs are being targeted by scammers kasi alam nila na gusting gusto ng OFW na umuwi sa Pinas pag nagka business. So dadaanin sa business talk, un pala SCAM lang.
  • I know a lot of people na nagging biktima ng scams, sad to say I was a victim too, Years ago when I was not yet financially literate na-iscam ako ng $200.

Good thing, I learned Financial literacy and Investments. Hindi ito scams, Investing sa Stock Market, Mutual Funds, Unit Investment Trust Funds at Real Estate un.

I learned how to handle money and make it work for me instead of me working for money.
