Choir from Cavite bags top prize at international choir contest in Bulgaria

  • The Imusicapella Chamber Choir bagged the top prize at the 39th International May Choir Competition in Varna, Bulgaria
  • They also took home the first place in the Chamber Choir category and the award for Best Interpretation of a Bulgarian piece by a foreign choir
  • They are from Imus, Cavite and under the direction of choirmaster Tristan Ignacio

The Imusicapella Chamber Choir bagged the coveted top prize of the 39th International May Choir Competition in Varna, Bulgaria. They took home the “Holder Of Varna’ 2018 Grand Prix”, as well as the first place in the Chamber Choir category and the award for Best Interpretation of a Bulgarian piece by a foreign choir.

The award-winning choir who hails from Imus, Cavite were under the direction of choirmaster Tristan Ignacio. After their win, they are now set to compete at the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in 2019.

This isn’t the first time the Imusicapella Chamber Choir wowed the international audience. They are a world-class chamber choir that has been in several international concert tours in the USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Poland and Czech Republic.
