First of all, I came up with these ideas because of a specific person, but I want to let everyone holding authority over people to f***ing read this and learn something. Kahit konti lang, ma’am sir. Pag may first, may second. Gusto kong i-reiterate na hindi ako naglalakas-lakasan ng loob, dahil I can tell this in someone’s face because I know I have the right, as an employee and as a human being! Pero..hindi sa kin to naganap. hahaha. Sa frennibels natin. Ayaw ko kasi ng may inaapi, alam mo ‘yun, power tripping, o kaya projection or displacement ng emotions dahil napagalitan ng boss din niya. Don’t be the person who hurt you..sabi ng hindi ko maalalang tao.
Being a leader, I know, it’s tough, just by looking at you guys. Every single day, you wake up to serve as a bridge for people to become successful. That’s how it is. You get to a certain point in life, that you acquire sufficient knowledge and great experiences to share with other people Being a leader is actually a privilege..an opportunity to make someone else’s life better. If your goal is just to make your company grow and acquire billions, then you are just using the power vested upon you by this thing called life, just to treat people as robots. You do not value your people, you value the things you can get from those people.
As a follower, I know how my pact functions. I am in a group where numbers are more important than harmony, than unity, even more than friendship. It’s always ‘business as usual’. I am with great people, they are kind and true..individually. But holistically,I don’t think I belong to a family. Madaling makisama, mahirap lang malaman kung totoo ba sila sayo, or keri lang ganon. Despite all these, I value them, I still hope that one day, these people will not say bad things behind each others back and work as a team. If we are to analyze why this group is as it is, you’d have to look how the leaders work and deal with their one downs. Are they united? Are they true to each other?Do they treat each other as friends or family, or just co workers? It starts there..
Kung ang boss mo, naninira ng kapwa leader, do you expect one’s downs to be different? Maybe, but generally..we adapt what we see in them.
Personally, I want a leader who doesn’t give up on employees. Normally, a person who is not motivated to work will just leave the company. But if a person is striving hard to excel, kahit hindi yan pumasa, basta sinusubukan maging mabuti, pumapasok. Trainable yan, may pag-asa pa. But giving up on an employee just because he/she’snot producing the desired numbers, you don’t call yourself a leader, you are just a plain, inhumane boss/manager. A true leader will not take the credit of performers’ achievements, because those are the employees, not yours. Innate na sa kanila kumbaga.
What an effective leader would do is, focus more on the weaker side of the ship! Be a motivator, help the person identify areas for improvement, and not let that person down. He/she can give up on himself, but never a leader would give up on an employee. It’s not just leadership that we are talking about, act as an advocate for that person to do better, for himself, not for anything else. Ang taong motivated, walang imposibleng bagay. That’s what an effective leader is. You are the selfless bridge for your people to become the next you.
I am addressing this to all leaders out there; be the person you need during the darkest hour of your career. Think about the time you’ve had the worst day in the office/workplace, do you need a nagging manager who mocks you that you are not of value to him/her? Do you need a manager who will doubt your skills? Do you need a manager who makes you feel useless and a burden to the group?
Kaya kong makisama sa manager na tipong mapapatanong ka na lang paano naging manager dahil laging tulog, laging namamasyal, laging nakikipag chismisan..Pero hindi ko kayang makakita ng boss na nangdedegrade ng tao. A person’s performance does not define who he/she is. It’s the environment that will determine if a person will produce the best numbers!
A person will perform well if the environment is conducive to success!
Mabuhay si Ka Freddie! (Sino siya? charot!)
