The early life of Rob Kenney or the so-called “YouTube Dad” is not a happy childhood story that everyone would want to hear. In fact, in an article written about him, he shared details about his family background and how his father walked out on them when he was only a kid.

“He said, ‘You know, I’m done having kids. You’re going to have to figure out where these kids are going because otherwise I’m putting them in foster homes,'” Rob said.

But a few years later, Rob was able to establish a solid relationship with the Lord and upon realizing that He has forgiven him for all the sins he made, he eventually forgave his father too during a fishing trip they had in the ’80s.

“He made it a point of trying to talk to each one of us individually,” Rob said. “… I know how much God has forgiven me. How can I hold something against somebody else?”

Now, the silver lining has entered Rob’s life as he began to build a happy family while becoming a good father to his two adult children and not to mention, to the whole Internet as well.

In his YouTube channel called “Dad, how do I?”, Rob posts videos of random and common tasks that dads usually teach their sons and daughters. These are also videos that he made for children without fathers so they can use them as a resource. Some of the content includes lessons on “how to fix most running toilets,” “how to unclog a bathtub drain,” and “how to unclog a sink” among others.

“It’s more than just how to fix things… it’s how to manage your life and ‘adulting’ questions,” Rob said in his most recent YouTube video. “So we thought maybe it would be beneficial to a few people and I thought if I could help a few, I’d be happy.”

As of May 20, 2020, Rob’s channel has already accumulated more than half a million subscribers since he created it last month. Netizens also gave praise and gratitude to the amazing YouTube Dad because of his beneficial “platform” for everyone.
