The testimony of Melvin Chua became an inspiration to many of us. He went viral on social media after posting his graduation pictures and another photo of him carrying dish sponges which he has been selling for 13 years.

In his Facebook post, Melvin thanked all of his “suki” for helping him finally achieve his dream to finish school. Aside from covering his allowance and studies, he also provides for his family’s needs.

And now that he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Office Management, he wanted to somehow experience working in an office.

“Naisip ko ‘yong buhay ko na 10 years na akong naglalako, na gusto ko naman na sa office naman po ako magtatrabaho,” Melvin said during an interview with TV Patrol.

[I just thought of my life peddling for 10 years, I now somehow want to experience working in an office.]

He also said that he wanted his “suki” [costumers] to see that he’s wearing office attire as he starts a new career in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

What’s even more amazing is that he still chooses to continue selling sponges as part time.

He reportedly doesn’t want to let go of the people (he’s referring to his “suki”) who helped him get a diploma.

His hard work definitely paid off!
