Mom Teaches Her Daughter Responsibility Through Toys and Mini-Sized Household Tools

The mother of 18-month-old Cherdyn Mojica certainly makes playtime both enjoyable and a learning experience for her daughter with the use of toys and ‘mini’ versions of common household tools.

A full-time medical technologist in one of the major hospitals in Metro Manila, Cherdyn wanted to teach baby Ceana to be a responsible adult and to instill in her an ‘I can do it!’ mindset. As soon as she started walking on her own, Ceana mops and sweeps the floor and waters the plants using mini floor mop, walis, and dustpan.

Ceana has shown interest in cleaning their home since she can see her parents doing it on their own since they do not have household help.

Cherdyn said that it was not easy looking for mini versions of these cleaning tools and she was happy that she was able to complete the set. There are toy versions of these tools but they are pricier compared to the ones she found.

Aside from the ‘mini’ cleaning tools, Ceana also owns ‘mini’-sized watering can, cupcake tins, rolling pins, whisk, and chopping board.

Cherdyn was also able to find a toy sink set for Ceana which comes with child-sized dishes to wash and a dish drying rack and can actually run real water. It is also in this mini-sink set where Ceana’s toothbrush, toothpaste, mini hairbrush, hand towel, and baby wash are placed.

As of the moment, Cherdyn shared that they are practicing kitchen activities like rolling dough, whisking fresh eggs, squeezing citrus, peeling a banana, and slicing fruit. She added, however, that trouble comes when Ceana eats the fruits even before they finish the activity. Cute!
