Petmalu! 11-Year-Old Filipina Gymnast Wins 3 Golds in Hong Kong Tournament

Breanna Labadan, 11, competed in the 2017 Hong Kong Queen’s Cup and bested gymnasts from all around the region, taking home 3 gold medals and 1 bronze.

The category of the ‘Hong Kong Queen’s Cup’ is part of the 2017 International Rhythmic Gymnastic competitions, held from December 16 to 17 in Hong Kong.

The dazzling diva was named ‘Individual All-Around Champion’, according to a report by Rappler. She outshined and outperformed representatives from Malaysia, Singapore, China and Hong Kong as the lone representative for the Philippines.

Her 3 gold medals are from the ‘Ball Apparatus’, ‘Clubs Apparatus’ and the ‘Individual All-Around’ routines. She won her bronze medal in the ‘Ribbon Apparatus’ routine.

Though settling for bronze, her tremendous feat was enough to crown her the champion on the total points accumulated.

Her mother, Laurice Labadan, was proud that all of Breanna’s hard work and determination paid off in the end.

We are happy with the outcome of Breanna’s efforts. Her triumph was a result of dedication and hard work. We dedicate this to God and the Philippines,” said Laurice via Manila Bulletin.

Breanna is from Butuan, Agusan Del Norte, but studies at the St. Scholastica College in Manila. She also is a part of the pre-junior national pool member under the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP).

Since 1963, GAP has been recruiting, training and competing come of the most talented and athletic gymnasts in the country, such as Breanna.
