  • DEFINITELY FILIPINO BLOG NETWORK

This blog and the Facebook Page was born from the idea that we should further our culture regardless of where we are, or where we were born. It is meant to be interactive so everyone can learn from each other. Around May 2009, I was browsing Facebook’s other Filipino Groups and Pages and realized that there wasn’t really a place in Facebook where Filipinos can mingle and meet others. These Groups/Pages, though promoting Filipino culture and pride, did not have interaction between its members. Their members would simply visit the group in the beginning, then forget about it afterwards and seldom return. This is the basis and philosophy behind this Page. It’s the place to come, learn, interact and belong…. We were founded July 27, 2009 and has since grown close to 1.1 million members (as of November 2010) – the largest culturally-related Filipino group on the internet!

“BESSY, ni minsan ba hindi ka man lang niyaya ni Tyrone na mag-date o kahit lumabas lang and go somewhere?” ani Darla habang nasa veranda kami na nagpapahangin nang gabing iyon. “Hindi. Saka, busy ‘yung tao. Bakit mo natanong?” “I’m just wondering if paano kaya kung manligaw siya sa’yo? I mean, Tyrone is a nice person. Guwapo, edukado at magaling na architec […]

Marriage is not just love and romance. Although it is primarily a joining of two hearts to spend life together, it is also a team up of two people to raise a family. • Homosexuality is Not a Disease
The thing about Homosexuality First of all, I want to clarify to all of you that I am not a homosexual or a transgender or whatever, I just want to express my opinion to this century-old dilemma. “Ako’y isang sirena, kahit anong sabihin nila ako’y ubod ng ganda”. A line from Gloc 9’s hit single “Sirena”. I liked the song, honestly and I found it as an eye-op […]
    • Separating Religion From Governance Can Lead to Progress!
Junior Layug Cagadas published an article at DefinitelyFilipino Blog entitled “Why We Filipinos Live in a Sick Society”. In his short commentary, he outlines several reasons why the Philippines is such in a bad state. Among those reasons are corruption, poverty, crime, and violence. He did not mention, however, what I consider to be another hindrance to prog […]
